About the RHA Hazardous Goods

The RHA Hazardous Goods department offers specialist advice on the movement of more unusual loads which may include UN classified substances. Hazardous and dangerous goods have their own legislative issues which need to be understood before carriage can be accepted.

There are exemptions available for some goods and these fall mainly under Limited Quantity and Small Load limits. Some further useful advice on the subject for GB movement can be found here   http://www.hse.gov.uk/cdg/index.htm

The RHA attends update meetings regularly with industry bodies to ensure latest guidance and possible legislation changes are known about and lobbied upon where required. These include the Working Party on the Training of Dangerous Goods Training Advisory Panel (TAP), Industry Advisory Group for the Security of Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (IAG), Chemsafe  and UN briefing and debriefing meetings.
