Reforming the Health and Safety System in Britain

The Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, Minister for Employment - with responsibility for health and safety - has announced a range of health and safety initiatives in a written ministerial statement.
This includes an independent review of health and safety regulation that will be headed up by Professor Ragnar Löfste

Pages 8-10 of the report will be of significance interest to the transport industry as will the proposal to recover costs associated with serious breaches of health and safety law from the businesses involved.
In addition the HSE has also launched its new online resource for lower risk businesses, providing simple guidance on how to manage health and safety.
"Health and Safety Made Simple" guidance shows a business what needs to be done to implement a basic level of health and safety in their workplace, by describing "what to do" and "how to do it". The guidance is available at:
