ERRI gets vote of confidence

The European Rescue & Recovery Initiative (ERRI) received a massive vote of confidence at the recent European Tow Show. The show, held in Telford, staged a Stakeholders Meeting on the Thursday afternoon where all the major clubs and other stakeholders met with members of ERRI to discuss a road map forward for the industry.

The first topic for discussion was whether the industry needed ERRI, which is effectively a combination of trade association, RHA Recovery, LARO, IFRS and IVR, speaking with one voice to its customers, government and other stakeholders. The meeting welcomed the initiative and promised to work with it on future initiatives affecting the industry.

It was further decided that in future all the other stakeholders would have two representatives each on the ERRI committee. The meeting also agreed that a sub-committee would be set up to explore the infrastructure of ERRI and what initiatives it would instigate. R Licences was high on the agenda as was hard shoulder running and red light issues.

Clearly the industry has embraced ERRI and the initiatives its supports. The industry will benefit from speaking with one voice and the initiative will help raise the profile of the rescue and recovery industry.
