Commercial vehicle drivers should have secure areas to park, access to toilets and showers, and food out on the road.
But drivers will tell you this often isn’t the case.
We estimate 11,000 safe and secure parking spaces are needed, and we want to see standards improved.
We’re asking the Government to help – and we’re calling for three things:
Work with industry to help raise the standard of roadside facilities in the long term;
Change planning rules to help get new facilities built more quickly;
Increase funding for new parking spaces and better facilities.
