Access to toilet facilities - it's a basic human right

There is a legal requirement to provide visiting delivery drivers with access to toilets and washing facilities under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.

Operators and drivers can carry this letter, from Public Health England, to show those who refuse access.

Where drivers are still refused access to amenities operators must contact the company concerned and remind them of their responsibility. If the conversation is not productive, RHA members are advised to report the matter to Health & Safety Executive via this link.

It’s a basic human right, and truckers, like everyone, have a right to carry out their job with dignity.
