Encouraging open conversations around mental health within our industry

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week — an important opportunity to recognise the importance of wellbeing across the HGV, coach and van sectors and to continue encouraging open conversations around mental health within our industry.

The people who keep the UK moving face long hours, pressure, isolation and increasing operational demands, which is why wellbeing must remain a priority for all of us.
Ahead of the launch of the RHA Wellbeing Charter on 15th July, I’ll be sharing the six pillars that sit at the heart of the Charter and why they are so important to the future of our industry.

The Charter is a proposed 10-year commitment focused on improving the health, resilience and wellbeing of the people who keep the UK moving, with a long-term ambition of achieving “one million moments of improvement”.

• Mental wellbeing
• Leadership and resilience
• Connecting with others
• Exercise
• Food and nutrition
• Learning and development

Together, these pillars aim to help build a healthier, stronger and more resilient industry for the future.
