The Road Haulage Association is delighted to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant at the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall.
RHA chief executive, Richard Burnett said: “In my 34 years in the logistics sector, former servicemen and women have proved to be among the very best people I have ever hired.
“Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is an important step for the RHA. Our support for Road to Logistics and Care After Combat underlines our recognition that members of the Armed Forces community are an important source of future staff for the logistics sector.
“We’re delighted to support this long-term commitment to Armed Forces personnel through our Covenant pledges.”
The Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. Firms which have signed up to the Covenant support reservists with time off for military duties - and recruit former soldiers, sailors and Air Force personnel where possible.
The document was co-signed by Richard Burnett and Colonel Lee Daley, Team Leader - Armoured Tracks Portfolio - Vehicle Support Team – LEOC.
