Vehicle Inspections

With the recent introduction of the Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) system by DVSA to enable it to target those that have a poor compliance record, it is even more important for employers to ensure that vehicles comply with Construction & Use regulations and any EU revisions applicable at the time.

Leading trade associations have recognised that employing an independent engineer to carry out regular and thorough maintenance inspections will provide an assurance that vehicles are safe and being operated efficiently and effectively. Even if a vehicle is covered by its manufacturer’s service and maintenance contract, it is advisable to bring in an independent adviser to provide peace of mind that everything is in order.

Through its vehicle inspection service, the RHA can offer such support to its members. An independent engineer can visit either an operating centre or premises of your choice on a regular basis, to carry out vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with your O Licence obligations. Alternatively, we can check that your existing provider is meeting the required standard by offering an inspection at agreed intervals throughout the year.

This RHA also offers a range of additional inspection processes including vehicle pre-purchase, end of lease, component failure and accident damage assessments.

This service is available for all types of commercial vehicles. An additional specialist inspection service can also be made available for tankers, lift trucks and lifting equipment.
