A £1m fund from the Scottish Government is available to help hauliers based in Scotland prepare for Net Zero.
The “SME Fleet Analysis Support” scheme allows small hauliers to employ a consultant to help you understand the options available to you to reduce CO2 emissions from your fleet.
The qualifying criteria to apply is as follows:
- you must have fewer than 50 HGVs in your fleet
- your headquarters or “main registered office” must be located within Scotland
- up to £20,000 funding per fleet is available
The expectation is that by the end of March 2026 the consultant you employ will provide a report that is shared with you and Transport Scotland on your decarbonisation options. If the report contains commercially sensitive information, Transport Scotland have advised that “a publishable version is expected in addition to the main report which can be shared with other fleets in order to support sector-wide understanding and confidence in the transition”.
You can apply for this funding between 9th July 2025 to 9th December 2025.
