Benevolent Fund

Helping people in road transport during hard times

The Benevolent Fund is the Road Haulage Association’s charity. It proactively supports people and their family dependents with a connection to the road transport industry when times are tough.

We know that people in our industry are facing severe financial pressures as well as struggling with physical and mental health issues.

Over the years, The Benevolent Fund has helped hundreds of people and their family members who are in serious hardship due to age, illness, injury or bereavement, by providing practical and financial support.

We want you to know that the Fund can help you through these difficult times and get you back on track.

Some of things the Benevolent Fund has supported with:

  • Paying for day-to-day essentials: food, bills, clothes and white goods
  • Funding for training – redundant drivers can apply for a free Driver CPC or driver medical to help them return to work.
  • Much-needed aid equipment, such as wet rooms, wheelchairs, specialist beds, etc.
  • Essential home improvements.
  • Travel expenses for hospital visits.
  • Funeral care costs.
  • Help towards outstanding bills and priority debt such as mortgage or rental arrears.
