Dover disruption: HMRC confirms GVMS issue continues

Dover disruption: HMRC confirms GVMS issue continues

07 Apr 2022 Posted By James Evison

HMRC has confirmed it is continuing to have issues with the new GVMS system and has made the decision to keep current plans in place until Monday (11 April).

The department made the move to allow the flow at the border to continue while work takes place to resolve the issue.

It also announced that it would be providing an overview of the issue and next steps for the system on Monday.

Additionally, the GVMS service page will be continually updated to reflect the new plans until Monday.

The news of the delay means:

Carriers are able to allow goods to proceed without a Goods Movement Reference (GMR).

Hauliers will need other evidence that a declaration has been made, for example, a reference number from CHIEF or a transit accompanying document.

Should any of your members need support with this they can access that via the HMRC Customs and International Trade helpline here.
