Members urged to take part in DfT and Highways England study

20 Jun 2022 Posted By James Evison

A new study from the Department for Transport and Highways England will re-assess the value of time during the movement of freight.

The critical work will feed into how the government assesses the reliability of the road network – and what investment is required to improve it.

We believe it is important hauliers of all sizes and types of operation feed information into the study. The DfT has said this work will “help inform future road scheme transport investment appraisal.”

Critical role

The government need “to ensure the critical role the freight and logistics sector plays in connecting manufacturers, ports, warehouses, and consumers, is accurately reflected in road investment scheme appraisal.”

It said responses will be welcome from all organisations – from smallest to largest – including shippers, carriers and those in the public or private sector.

To participate in the technical survey, contact this email, where you will receive a link to an online survey which must be completed by 30 June 2022.
