MPs stand up for freight during National Lorry Week

During last month’s National Lorry Week, Ministers, and MPs from across the political divide came together to celebrate the contributions of the RHA’s dedicated members.

Members of Parliament paid tribute to the essential work of lorry drivers both locally and nationally. Haulage is key for the economy and thanks the people in our industry for keeping our shops stocked, making sure that our schools and hospitals have the equipment they need.

Although we were disappointed to cancel our annual reception due to Parliament proroguing, we were delighted to receive supportive quotes, videos and visits from MPs who remained determined to support the sector.

National Lorry Week 2023 ran from 23 to 29 October, celebrating the vibrant road transport industry. This year’s event explored the future of road transport, showcasing how our industry is constantly evolving with cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices.

Valued members, industry operators and those simply interested in exploring a rewarding career in the sector took part in helping us champion the crucial nature of the sector.
