Next month we will be at both the major party conferences – at Conservative Party Conference next week and Labour Party Conference the following week, where we continue to engage with key stakeholders across the industry and government.
We will continue to highlight and evidence the vital role that operators of trucks, coaches and vans play in keeping the country and our supply chains moving and resilient, focusing on our six key priorities which are fundamental to do this.
We will be holding events at both Conservative Party Conference (1-4 October, Manchester), and Labour Party Conference (8-11 October, Liverpool). We will be joined by our member companies, Members of Parliament and high-level speakers to promote the critical role of our sector to large audiences.
The first of our events will be a panel discussion ‘Facing the Future Together: The Route to Net Zero’ on Monday 2 October at 10.30.
The event will focus on efforts to decarbonise the UK's transport sector. Following the Prime Minister’s announcement outlining "a new approach to reach net zero" and a decision to delay the prohibition of new diesel and petrol car and van sales until 2035, we will engage a panel of experts to shed light on the real implications for HGVs, coaches, and motorists.
Panellists joining us will include the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Hydrogen, Alexander Stafford MP, Paul Durkin - Chief Customer and Innovation Officer at Wincanton and Rhian Hughes, Director at Earl Transport amongst other members.
If you’re attending either conference, please do join us.
