As we approach the 31 October deadline for SPS declarations on EU imports coming into effect, we and our members continue to have regular productive dialogue with decision makers from key branches of UK Government.

Delegations from our NI members have met several times with the Cabinet Office, HMRC and Defra to outline their concerns based on first-hand experience and to get answers to the many questions they have around implementation.

These meetings continue to be productive as both RHA members and government alike seek to ensure that the NI supply chain remains robust in these times of change, and that the enforced changes brought in by Brexit do not mean that those who deliver the NI economy are burdened by excessive cost and bureaucracy.
