Commenting after the publication of the Transport Focus Strategic Roads User Survey, RHA Infrastructure Policy Lead, James Barwise said:

"Disrupted and inefficient journeys are a big issue for our industry and the wider economy, with congestion costing the country £30.8bn a year.

"With 85% of everything we buy moving by road, quality roads are crucial to the supply chain every household and business depends on. A modern, safe and fit for purpose road network is an economic necessity.

"We want to see roadbuilding and sustained investment in the road network firmly on the agenda to improve roads across the country - and with it, overall driver satisfaction.

"We stand ready to work with decision-makers at all levels to get this right."
