RHA response to Kent County Council Consultation - HGV parking ban scheme
We have formally objected to Kent County Council's plans to make temporary lorry parking bans across East Kent permanent.
The plans are outlined in a consultation being run by Kent County Council. We believe the plans set a precedent for similar restrictions, both within other areas of Kent and for other counties throughout England.
In our consultation response, we claimed that the Council plans act against road safety, are unjust, and fail to address the underlying shortage of essential facilities for lorry drivers.
The restrictions were originally put in place to deal with potential problems around the end of the Brexit transition period. However, this is now over, as evidenced by the recent removal of Operation Brock infrastructure..
