Tanker Group
Open to RHA members who are involved in the bulk carriage of liquids, powders and gases in road tankers or tank container vehicles.
The eligibility for membership of the Group is the active engagement in the carriage of bulk liquids, powders, or gases for hire-or-reward, in road tankers or tank containers. The Group meets approximately three to four times a year usually in a northern location.
The Group maintains representation at meetings convened by a range of Government departments and industry bodies concerned with development in regulations. An example would be the current review by SQA of ADR Driver training, vehicle equipment specifications, vehicle design and construction and operational performance concerning the safe carriage of liquids, powders and gases in bulk quantities.
The Group’s recent work includes the updating of the RHA Prevention Of Falls From Road Tankers, this is a protocol document between the Health & Safety Executive and the Road Haulage Association. The annual subscription of £60.00 + VAT maintains the Group's Special Purposes Fund which is used to support Group activities such as the purchase of training videos and the subsidy of safety training courses.
