Course Title:  Tachograph Rule Change Enforcement and Implications for Operators

Significant changes to the tachograph rules were introduced in 2020 and the DVSA has changed its approach and has been enforcing these changes since January 2022.  These changes are probably the biggest change to the tachograph record keeping requirements in the past 40 years. Alarmingly however, they have been the subject of very little publicity and no official guidance.

We understand that the DVSA is now starting to enforce the changes. Our 2.5 hour e-training course will examine the rule changes in detail and the implications in terms of record keeping.  It is our belief that around 99% of operators and drivers will not be complying with the new rules and as such, this e-training course is essential for ALL transport managers and senior managers of operators who operate under the EU Tachograph Rules.

  • Standard Price: £70.00+ VAT
  • Course duration: 2 1/2 Hours

Course Title:   Missing Mileage

Are you able to account for every movement of your vehicle?  Are vehicles being moved without a driver card being inserted?  Do your management systems include checks for missing mileage or are you at risk? The devil is in the detail where the missing mileage is concerned.

  • Standard Price: £50.00+ VAT
  • Course duration: 1 1/2 Hours

Course Title:   A Bridge Too Far

According to Network Rail, each day there are 5 bridge strikes involving large goods or passenger vehicles across the UK. Did you know if it is your vehicle involved in a bridge strike, you will be called to a hearing before the Traffic Commissioner and you will face regulatory action against your Operator’s Licence. The driver of the vehicle involved will also be called to a hearing and risks the revocation of their vocational entitlement and disqualification for 6 months. If your answer to the above is hesitant then why not put the brakes on and join our e-training. This bitesized course focuses on the Traffic Commissioners expectations, roller brake testing, laden tests and understanding the printouts.

So, what are operators and transport managers required to do to prevent bridge strikes?

Join us to discover what bridge strikes mean in practice for you, your drivers and your compliance management systems, and the implications of getting it wrong.

The training will cover:

The national picture (according to Network Rail)

Why do bridge strikes happen?

Consequences of a bridge strike

Bridge strikes and the Traffic Commissioners

What to do in the event of a bridge strike

How to prevent bridge strikes

Course Title:   Engaging Drivers in the Gig Economy

Current HMRC guidance suggests that it will be ‘very rare’ that a commercial vehicle driver will be genuinely self-employed (regardless of the label given to the relationship) and Traffic Commissioners now scrutinise the arrangements operators have in place for engaging their drivers. So called ‘self-employed’ drivers are a major concern for HMRC and the Traffic Commissioners and can result in serious tax consequences as well as findings of loss of good repute.

Join us for our eTraining on the arrangements for engaging your drivers, the changes to the off-payroll working rules, which came into effect from 6 April 2021, and the potential implications for you, your business and your Operator’s Licence of getting it wrong.

The training covers:

HMRC’s position

The employment position – self-employed vs. worker vs. employee

IR35

Good repute and the decision of the Upper Tribunal in the Bridge step case

The approach of the Traffic Commissioners

The risks for your Operator’s Licence

The other consequences of getting it wrong

Steps you should now take
