Roadworks - A40 Hanger Lane near Ealing to close temporarily.

15 Apr 2024 Posted By Joe Scotting

From Monday 6 May until Sunday 2 June 2024, HS2 will be carrying out works on the A40 between Alperton Lane and Hanger Lane Gyratory near Ealing.

There will be a closure of lane three on both the east and westbound sides during the day, and then further closures of lanes two east and west at night.

Hanger Lane Tunnel will be closed, with a diversion around the Gyratory.

During these works, there will be phased traffic management in place on the A40 Western Avenue involving:

    • Lane closures
    • Contraflow system
    • Division over Hanger Lane Gyratory due to A40 tunnel closure
    • Speed restrictions of 20mph enforced with Average Speed Camera

These works are needed to protect a gas main that crosses the A40.
