RHA Driver Agency Guidance - helping hauliers make the right choice

The RHA has launched best practice guidance for hauliers using driver agencies. It aims to help operators make the right choices when taking on agency drivers.

This comes after RHA members reported several issues with the quality and conduct of agency drivers.

The guidance covers a number of key considerations: what questions firms should ask driver agencies; what information agencies will need from them, and what they need to do when bringing in drivers.

Richard Smith, RHA Managing Director said: "It will help firms choose the most suitable agencies, and will remind them of their own legal responsibilities.

“It’s vital that hauliers are prepare themselves with the right questions when they’re going to agencies, and ensures they have the right procedures in place for taking on drivers.

“Recruiting people through third parties can be a risky business, so we’re pleased to issue this guidance which will help firms make the best choices.”
