Roadway closes out 2025 with a review of another successful National Lorry Week, and the RHA’s comment and opinion on the implications of the November Budget.

Our broader industry view includes a test drive of the Volvo FH16 780 Aero – as a balance to all the electro-talk. Though we also face up to where the sector is headed, so both our features this month cover the implications of the move towards zero-emissions – in the reefer market, and in electric power supply.

Infrastructure development is an issue for every operator working towards Net Zero, and we also include news of HVO and biomethane refuelling facilities opening along the trunk routes. There was a time when fuel access was a given. Now drivelines are changing and a whole industry, essential to the running of the country, is having to consider where it can fuel.

We also carry news from the American Trucking Associations (ATA), an interesting read not least for details of an industry working on a vastly different scale, though their operational challenges will strike a few chords.
