Roadway this month features event reports on RTX Northern Ireland and the CV Show, offering news of vehicle launches and details of some very interesting panel debates. There are briefings from some of the leading truck manufacturers and the Association’s response to recent major political events and announcements. It also has news of the RHA’s groundbreaking industry initiative, the Wellness Charter, ahead of its official launch in July.
The issue of work and wellbeing is explored in detail in an interview with Derek Anderson, managing director of Carson Transport. It is a forthright and honest discussion of mental health in the workplace and particularly the stresses that our sector can impose on the people who work in it.
Roadway also covers a lot of operational issues this month, including the impact of rising fuel prices, news of tachos in LCVs, bridge strikes, the DVSA’s crackdown on decorative lights, the policing of abnormal loads, and load restraint. Coverage from Northern Ireland also brings us a report on the growth of ferry services in Ireland and the continual lack of them around Scotland.
