Julija Aleksejeva - Business Support Administrator at RHA Training in Scotland

To celebrate Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2022, we’re featuring some of our own apprentices who are currently training at the RHA through our Scotland apprenticeship programme. We speak to Julija Aleksejeva, who is studying as a Business Support Administrator, to find out about her journey so far.

What apprenticeship are you studying?

I’m a Business Support Administrator at RHA Training in Scotland.

What have you enjoyed so far?

I have enjoyed every step of my apprenticeship so far, where I have learned all different types of things such as booking people in for theories and medicals, creating attendance certificates and many more admin tasks.

I have also participated in valuable training courses such as Fire Marshall, First Aid Course, Digital Literacy and other courses which will help me in life and my career.

I really enjoy arranging for people to come to our premises for Module 4 which is one of your steps for becoming an LGV driver.

We recently installed a new system called TMS which shows all the candidates we’ve got and what everyone’s doing.

I manage bookings for courses, theories, driving tests and training, our system has everything you need in it rather than using lots of manual files.

What are you hoping to do in the future?

I am hoping to stay with the RHA and grow my experience, skills and knowledge with the aim to become an administrator and hopefully in the future I can become a manager.

Why would you recommend doing an apprenticeship?

This is a brilliant way to start something new and work yourself up to what you want to be in the future. The knowledge and skills you get from this kind of experience you could use in any other industry You could still use the experience you’ve been taught in the past which would give you confidence and skills in the future. You learn lots of different things and teach yourself that everything’s possible.
