Risk Assessment

Course Length: ½ Day 
Course Content: 1 Module: Assessing the risk.

This Risk Assessment training course is designed to help anyone with responsibility for carrying out a risk assessment understand each essential step of the risk assessment process. The course details the legal requirements, how to assess and manage hazards, and ensures learners are confident to perform a risk assessment in their premises.

Manual Handling

Course Length: ½ Day
Course Content: 1 Module: Handling the risk.

This covers employer duties and responsibilities as outlined by Manual Handling Operations Regulations. It ensures that delegates gain a full understanding of safe techniques to use when lifting and moving objects to avoid injury to themselves and to others. It will demonstrate consequence of using poor techniques when handling loads and give delegates the tools to carry out a manual handling risk assessment.

 

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) 

Course Length: ½ Day 
Course Content: 1 Module: Assessing the substance.

This Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) training course introduces delegates to the risks associated with hazardous substances. It provides staff with the necessary skills to identify and control hazardous substances, and how to work with them safely. By the end of the course the delegate will be able to complete a COSHH assessment based on the current HSE standard.

 

Fire Marshal

Course Length: ½ Day 
Course Content: 1 Module: Fire Marshall.

The Fire Marshall course educates the learner about what their duties are as a fire marshal. It provides the tools   needed to understand good fire safety practices, implement, and maintain fire safety arrangements, and carry out evacuations effectively. Successful candidates will be issued with a RHA fire marshal certificate of competence following assessment.

Fire Extinguisher Training

Course Length: ½ Day 
Course Content: 1 Module: Basic Fire Extinguisher Training.

This course has been designed to give attendees practical training in the safe use of the portable fire extinguisher. The course has been designed to allow the user to experience fire in a safe environment and has been constructed to cover the most common types of incident likely to be encountered in the transport industry. Successful candidates will receive an RHA certificate of competence following assessment.

Self-Escorting Abnormal Loads Course

Course Length: 1 Day 
Course Content: 2 Modules: Code of practices and responsibility, Vehicle equipment, marking and behaviour.

If you’re in the business of escorting abnormal loads, this hands-on course is suitable for up to eight delegates and will enable you to adhere to the Self-Escorting of Abnormal Loads and Abnormal Vehicles Code of Practice. Delegates will learn what their roles and responsibilities are, codes of practice and documentation requirements, the vehicle marking rules and procedures. 

This course is suitable for those who will perform escort duties, abnormal load drivers and managers who will organise this type of movement.

Practical Safe loading Course

Course Length: 1 Day 
Course Content: 2 Modules: Code of practices and responsibility, load equipment & physical restraint.

This full day interactive course reviews the various legislative requirements and addresses a wide range of common potential loading errors which can lead to shifted, lost, or badly damaged loads. The course is complimented by the use of a practical demonstration and allows delegates to practice their load securing theory.
Please note, a suitable vehicle and load will need to be provided for this training.

Reverse Assistant Course

Course Length: 1 Day 
Course Content: 1 Module: Safe reversing safe operation.

Vehicle manoeuvres including reversing are the most common cause of vehicle/pedestrian accidents in the workplace. Distribution points, haulage yards, coach stations, customer sites and parking places all feature heavily in the yearly statistics. Safe reversing and how to ensure safety when reversing is unavoidable is an absolute for those charged with ensuring the safety of others. Designed for drivers, warehouse workers, supervisors, and managers the course will guide delegates through the safe system of work required to reduce the risk as low as possible.

This course includes a practical element and customers will be requested to provide a suitable vehicle and driver (may be a delegate) for this part. Candidates will be issued an RHA certificate of competence on successful completion of the assessment.
