Assessor & Verifier Qualification

Assessor & Verifier Qualification

If you deliver apprenticeships, vocational qualifications or are looking to expand your knowledge in this area these qualifications are for you.

Assessors are an essential piece of the VQ process ensuring that candidates are indeed competent in the jobs they do. Verifiers make sure that the assessment process isn’t only working but also that it is fair and robust.

RHA is ready to help you progress to the gaining of these two very important qualifications:

Assessing Candidates using Direct and Indirect Methods (L&D9DI)
Course Length: 2 Days for initial introduction and training followed by mentoring sessions.
Course Content: Assess Workplace Competence Using Direct and Indirect Methods.

Many qualifications and workplace activities require that individuals be assessed against an industry standard. In order to assess workplace competence and sign off on standards such as vocational qualifications an assessor qualification is required.

This course is for those who wish to assess in the workplace using a wide range of assessment methods, both direct and indirect. The course is delivered at your premises and will take approximately two days. The person wishing to achieve this qualification, the “assessor-candidate” will learn to use the following direct methods to assess workplace competence: observation examination of work products either created and not created at the time of observation and questioning.

They may also be involved in authenticating indirect evidence such as discussing with candidates, testimony of others, examining candidate statements assessing candidates in simulated environments or Recognising Prior Learning (RPL) – otherwise known as the Accreditation of Prior Achievement (APA).

This qualification will require you to have access to at least two individuals to assess in the workplace, if required RHA can help with this element. The course will take a little time following the initial training to complete due to its nature and the need to plan your assessments.

Internally Monitor and Maintain the Quality of Workplace Assessment (L&D11)
Course Length: 1 ½ Days
Course Content: 4 Modules: Prepare, Plan, Carry out the Internal Quality Assurance process, Meet External QA standard

This course is for those who will monitor the assessment processes and decisions within an organisation and help to maintain and improve the quality of workplace assessment. This process is referred to as Internal Verification and the role is undertaken by Internal Verifiers. The course is delivered at your premises and will take approximately one and a half days and will cover all of the elements needed to successfully complete the units required to qualify. IV’s will already hold the L&D9 assessor qualification or its equivalent.

This qualification will require you to have access to the assessment process within your workplace so that you can be involved in the monitoring of the system. You will also need to have access to at least two assessors who are actively planning and assessing workplace competence. If required RHA can assist with this access under the guidance of your tutor and our own internal verifiers.

The qualification will take a little time following the initial training to complete due to its nature and the need to plan your verification activity.
