RHA Key Account Manager Martin Dean awarded £500 Amazon vouchers to the winning schools of The National Lorry Week School Truck Design Competition.

King Edward VI High School for Girls, Birmingham student Sathviga Gopinath and Oliver Gilbert-Clarke from Nanstallon Primary School, Cornwall won the awards for their schools for their outstanding lorry designs.

Primary students from across the country participated in The National Lorry Week School Truck Design Competition, putting their creativity to the test by designing lorries.

Sathviga captured the prize with her zoo-themed design, while Oliver transformed his lorry into an ice cream truck.

Martin presented both winners with trophies to commemorate their achievement.

Martin reflected, “This competition allowed us to show classrooms the essential role lorries play in our lives, delivering food, clothes, and the daily necessities we often take for granted.

“It was wonderful to introduce the next generation to the varied and rewarding career opportunities road transport offers to school leavers, from driving and engineering to HR and business development.

“Seeing the children's imaginative takes on haulage was fantastic. I hope it has inspired them to consider a future in our industry. I can't wait to see the designs they come up with in 2024.”

Stay tuned for more on National Lorry Week 2024, taking place later this year.
