Joe Scotting 08 Jan 2025

Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that the newly constructed Silvertown Tunnel will open on Monday 7 April.

The route links Silvertown in east London to the Greenwich Peninsula and has been built to help reduce congestion at the nearby Blackwall Tunnel.

Tolls will be introduced at both tunnels from 7 April – they’ll be operational between 06.00hrs-22.00hrs every day except Christmas Day.

Selected charges (off peak):

Small vans – £1.50
Large vans – £2.50
HGVs - £5.00

Selected peak charges (Monday-Friday only – northbound 06.00hrs-10.00hrs and southbound 16.00hrs-19.00hrs)

Small vans – £4.00
Large vans – £6.50
HGVs - £10.00

Coaches are exempt from tolls.
