National Coach Week: Spotlighting an unsung hero in our economy

This year’s National Coach Week provides a vital opportunity to shine a light on a sector that is often an unsung hero in our economy.

We are very proud to champion the coach sector and how it’s a key economic enabler, and our National Coach Week campaign will focus on how it supports tourism and leisure.

The campaign which launches on 12 May will show how our sector takes visitors to our towns, cities, and rural attractions, injecting vital revenue into local communities.

It will coincide with major sporting events including the FA Cup Final at Wembley where coaches will take thousands of people to and from football’s showpiece. We will also shortly announce a number of events covering all four nations of the UK which will emphasise the great work our sector does – and celebrates it.

We want to get across that the coach sector deserves greater attention as we continue to raise its profile in Westminster, the devolved parliaments and beyond. This will help us with our campaigning to ensure that national and local policymakers best understand what support our sector needs to drive growth.

You can get involved in our campaign – please go to our website, download the campaign pack and tell your followers why you’re supporting #NationalCoachWeek

Meanwhile, colleagues and I will be in Blackpool with our driving simulator at the UK Coach Rally this weekend. I hope to see you there!
