RHA meets Roads Minister Greenwood

We were delighted to meet with the new Roads Minister Lillian Greenwood MP in Birmingham alongside key leaders and politicians in the region including the new Mayor of the West Midlands, Richard Parker, and the Secretary of State for Justice, Shabana Mahmood MP.

We took the opportunity to raise the range of pressing priorities facing commercial vehicle operators across the country including the need for bold and ambitious roads investment to drive economic growth and support for the industry in the upcoming Autumn Budget on 30 October - including the importance of not adding additional tax burdens on our sector at a time when a record number of hauliers are going into administration.

During the meeting, we discussed the vital role of the road haulage, van and coach industry as a key partner in enabling the new Government to achieve its 5 national missions and we look forward to working closely with Minister Greenwood in the months ahead.
