RHA meets Traffic Commissioner for Wales at local member Alan R Jones

RHA has met Traffic Commissioner for Wales, Victoria Davies, at member Newport-based member Alan R Jones to discuss critical issues to the sector.

Davies thanked the RHA and Alan R Jones, whose parent company is Fagan & Whalley, for facilitating the visit, commenting that she found it very interesting and informative.

Ms Davies was the senior lawyer managing the legal transport team at the Welsh Government until her appointment as Traffic Commissioner in 2020.

Hands on

She was very interested in visiting a member company to get a better ‘hands on’ understanding of the business.

Various issues were discussed including the RHA’s three campaigns; skills, the environment and driver facilities. High on the agenda was Welsh road infrastructure, roller brake testing, the driver shortage and fuel.

The new RHA Wales Member Forum was also discussed and this got a very positive reaction from the commissioner.

Dan Wood, Operations Strategy Director of Fagan & Whalley (Alan R Jones parent company), Gareth Hall, Alan R Jones Head of Operations, RHA Regional Operations Manager Rhys Williams and RHA Board of Directors member, Ray Clegg were present.
