Roadway Magazine's November Issue: out now!

25 Oct 2024 Posted By Joe Scotting

In this month's issue of Roadway Magazine, we have news of National Lorry Week 2024 taking place across the UK. The RHA’s celebration of our industry is now in its 10th year, and its focus in 2024 is on training and skills and the next generation.

Planning for the future was also a theme of the IAA Transportation event in Hannover in September. Truck, van, and tyre manufacturers vied for space and attention to promote their answers to the needs of commercial transport, and while the details varied, the thinking behind new models was very similar: the future is electric.

You can make your mind up from our show reports. Though we also raise in this issue the trickier question of EV’s residual value. Once you’ve got your electric truck what is its value to you at the end of its working life? Is it in the vehicle of just the batteries? We ask some questions and seek some answers. Though what is clear is that the used truck market is going to be in for some major changes.

The Euro Bus Expo 2024 at the NEC is an event taking place in November and we provide details of the RHA Coach team which will be there. With a feature on the ‘greening’ of truck tyres, details of the RHA’s member briefings, and a celebration of the career of Bill Hockin of William C. Hockin (Transport), one the Association’s longest serving members, and staunchest advocates.
