Oil & Gas Transition Training Fund

The £12m Transition Training Fund was set up by the Scottish Government and is managed by Skills Development Scotland. It offers support with training grants to help you to retrain, upskill or get accreditation or certification that would help you get a new job in oil and gas, the wider energy sector, or engineering and manufacturing.

The aim of the RHA TTF is to identify candidates from the oil and gas industry to join the program and deliver a minimum of two days transport industry familiarisation training prior to their chosen training option. This work will be carried out by RHA field staff who will engage directly with the prospective starts as well as potential employers.

All potential LGV Drivers that start licence acquisition training will achieve the qualification LGV Driver and DCPC within the training period. Potential Transport Managers will train on one of the available courses throughout the period. All potential Transport Managers will sit and pass the Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage Operations within the training period. Potential transport supervisors, vehicle inspectors and compliance managers will commence appropriate training in order to develop the skills required for these roles. This training will be specific to the individual and delivered via RHA, colleges and partner organisations to achieve the best possible fit for the candidate. All candidates will gain the necessary experience and qualification during the program in order to take up one of the available roles identified.
