The RHA is proud to announce its upcoming National Coach Week, taking place between 12–18 May.
This annual event – the RHA’s fourth – is dedicated to celebrating the coach industry's significant contribution to the UK's tourism sector and overall economy.
Coach travel plays a unique and under recognised role in the UK economy and environment. It carries millions of visitors to destinations and attractions as well as essential trips such as school transport and rail replacement services.
There are around 3,000 coach operators in the UK, directly employing approximately 42,000 people and contributing more than £17 billion to the UK economy.
The RHA will release its ‘Coaches – A Clear Route to Growth’ report ahead of National Coach Week which will set out a number of recommendations to support the coach sector to drive economic growth. These will include measures to support net zero transition, attract more people into the sector and improve infrastructure.
The RHA is encouraging people in the sector and connected stakeholders to show their support for the campaign to help drive home the message that coaches are a key economic enabler.
Richard Smith, RHA Managing Director, said:
"National Coach Week is a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the vital role the coach industry plays in our society.
"Coaches provide essential transport links, connect communities, and support our tourism sector. They are also a key part of the solution to reducing congestion and improving air quality.
We urge everyone to join us in celebrating this important industry and recognise the hard work and dedication of the people who make it all possible."
