The Big Brexit Border Q&A

The RHA has created a detailed Q&A, explaining the details of how cross-border trade with Europe will work next year, after the end of the Brexit transition period.

There is much for any importer/exporter will need to do to understand the system and take the necessary steps to ensure goods flow freely with Europe. All of which will need to be done regardless of whether or not the UK strikes a trade deal with the EU.

Newsnight: Richard Burnett explains the scale of the work ahead

RHA chief executive Richard Burnett has appeared on BBC Newsnight to highlight just how much work the UK must get done before the end of the Brexit transition period.

This follows the release of the 200+ page government document which sets out the future state of cross-border trade with the EU after the transition period.

RHA tells MPs about deep concern over HGV Testing

The DVSA has announced plans for re-testing vehicles that were given exemptions or are now due tests. However, the Agency has caused confusion in doing so, and many members have reported they have no faith that tests can be done and vehicles kept safe.

The RHA told MPs at the Commons Transport Select Committee last week that we have “no confidence” in DVSA’s plan for restarting tests.

Denied access to toilets? Send your complaint directly to HSE

The RHA is calling for HGV drivers who have been denied access to toilet facilities to bring their complaints directly to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.

HSE and the RHA are working to ensure that the legal right of lorry drivers to access toilet facilities is being upheld.
