New and updated RHA letter for haulage key workers

25 Mar 2020 Posted By Josh Reynolds

The RHA has released an updated copy of a letter for employees in the haulage industry who have been identified as key workers amidst the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

The Government's guidance for maintaining educational provision states that: "If your work is critical to the COVID-19 response, or you work in one of the critical sectors listed below, and you cannot keep your child safe at home then your children will be prioritised for education provision."

Included in that list is Transport. This includes those who will keep the air, water, road and rail passenger and freight transport modes operating during the COVID-19 response, including those working on transport systems through which supply chains pass.

The letter, which can be found here, is intended to be used by haulage firms undertaking the vital works referenced in the government document.

It can be printed on company letterhead and provided to employees who need their children to keep attending schools in order to continue playing a key role in keeping the country moving during the current coronavirus pandemic.
